Large Pair Japanese Satsuma Vases – Meiji Period

A good-sized pair of Japanese Meiji period Satsuma vases profusely decorated, each with figural cartouches on the front & back depicting scholars teaching children, each vase has floral panels on the sides finished with intricate gilt borders. Both vases are stamped with an impressed mark on the underside and each vase stands 9 ½ inches tall; one vase has an old internal firing crack otherwise the condition is excellent.
